(Small Notes for the issue)

The stamp depict "Dragon and Tiger" by Hashimoto Gaho (1835-1908). The painting was exhibited in the 1900 Paris World Exposition and awarded the silver medal. It is in possession of the Imperial Household Agency. Hashimoto Gaho was one of the last Kano school Painters as well as a pioneering modern artist, who introduced new concepts of light and colors to the traditional painting.
