[Note on the Stamps]
New definitive stamps were issued, following the design theme of revised definitive stamps issued on 2014 March 3, "The Nature of Japan." The motif of 500-yen definitive stamp is Towada-Hachimantai National Park shared by Aomori, Iwate and Akita prefectures. The park is blessed with spectacular scenery of volcanoes and a caldera lake. Oirase Stream flows for about 14km from the Lake Towada.
