(Small Notes for the Issue)

C1640: The house of the Kamios was built in 1771 in Oita prefecture. The characteristics of the house are its steep thatched roofs, the diagonally placed (Ganko-gata) four buildings, and the utilization of bamboo.

C1641: The original house of the Nakamuras was built in 1727 but its roofs were tiled during the second half of the Meiji era (around the 1890's to the 1910's). It is a typical house of wealthy farmer in the period of Ryukyu Kingdom representing both the characteristics of Japanese and Chinese contemporary building styles.
