(Small Notes for the Issue)

C1712: Tha main event of the National Afforestation Campaign 1999 was the 50th National Afforestation Ceremony by the theme, "We send the wind from forest to people in future," on 30 May in Shizuoka Prefecture. The stamp depicts Mt. Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan, and amagi-shakunage flowers, which grow in only the limited area on the mountains in the Izu peninsula.
