(Small Notes for the Issue)

It marks the centenary of the birth of Sato Ichiei, a poet from Ichinomiya, in 1999. "Yamatoshi uruwashi (beautiful Yamato)" was his masterpiece and published in 1933. Fujii Tokio painted the portrait around 1931. Munakata Shikou was the representative woodcut artist, who was born in Aomori in 1903. The stamp depicts a part of Munakata's "Yamatoshi uruwashi," which was exhibited in 1936.
