[Note on Stamps]
The stamps depict three of "Fifty-three stations of the Tokaido Road"
(Hoeido edition) by Hiroshige (1797-1858), ukiyoe artist in the late Edo
era. These are in possession of Hiraki Ukiyoe Museum. Mariko is in Shizuoka,
Minakuchi is in Shiga, and Shinagawa is in Tokyo.
