A popular comic, serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine from August 2001, was adapted into an animated television series and later followed by a film sequel. The story follows the brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who want to restore their bodies after a disastrous failed attempt to bring their mother back to life through alchemy.
