[Note on the Stamps]
New definitive stamps were issued, following the design theme of revised definitive stamps issued on 2014 March 3, "The Nature of Japan." The motif of 1000-yen definitive stamp is "Fujizu" by Tanomura Chikuden (Important Cultual Properties), an Edo period Nanga style painter. gFujizuh depicts snow covered Mt. Fuji in early summer against the background of blue sky. It is considered to be the best painting of Tanomura in his forties.
