(Small Notes for the Issue)

Iwajuku Paleolithic site is located in Iwajuku, near the Kiryu city. Stone tools from Iwajuku's Kanto loam strata provided the first convincing evidence that the Japanese islands were occupied by human groups before 10,000 BC. Excavations in 1949 confirmed the existence of two cultural strata, one of which contained small tools such as points and blades made of obsidian and agate.
